Grijze Tulp

These yarns are made by an 80% Blue Texel and a 20% Alpaca of the necks of our herd.

The Blue Texel is a breed derived from the Texel sheep of Dutch origin but specialised in the production of wool and not as meat as its breed of origin. Its greyish wool is ideal for projects that need a resistant yarn or a colourwork that the inflated threads of the Shetland sheep do not suit. Of the threads of sheep breeds they are one of the most adherent and those that work best when performing the technique “Steeking” (First round tubes are made without interruption for openings or sleeves until the end. After completing the tube, a straight line is cut along the centre of a column of stitches, in order to make room for an opening or a place to join another piece).
